Technology to help you practice

This falls under the category of, “I want one!” Researches at Georgia Tech have developed a glove that aids in practicing the piano. The process seems pretty simple. The glove syncs to music on your computer. The glove vibrates the finger that you are to use to play any given note. Early research indicates that people learned songs better when using the gloves than songs they learned without the gloves. One other interesting aspect would be the ability to practice without the piano at all.

From the article:

“It is so exciting to see how we can enhance human life with music and technology,” said Ellen Yi-Luen Do, professor with joint appointments in the College of Architecture and College of Computing. “Whether the research can be applied for education, entertainment, rehabilitation or just the enjoyment of music, I think it is a wonderful opportunity to combine disciplines and knowledge.”

This is amazing technology and I look forward to seeing more in the coming years.
